The Tampa Bay Rays lost another one run ballgame and this time it was to the Seattle Mariners by the score of 6-5.  The reason the Rays lost was because they only had six hits the entire game while the Mariners had 13 hits.

Two of the Rays six hits were homeruns by Shawn Riggans and Carlos Pena.  Riggans, Pena, and Willy Aybar all had one RBI each.

Gary Glover took the loss for the Rays.  The Rays used six different pitchers in the game, and Glover was the one who allowed the two runs in the 6th inning.

The Tampa Bay Rays were never really in the game tonight against the Yankees as they lost 6-1.  The Rays bats couldn’t get going against Mike Mussina and the Yankees bullpen and Bobby Abreu hurt the Rays pitchers.

Jason Hammel took the loss for the Rays.  Hammel pitched six innings and gave up eight hits and four earned runs.  Scott Dohmann pitched one inning and gave up two earned runs.  Gary Glover pitched one scoreless inning.

The only offense for the Rays came off the bat of Jonny Gomes when he hit a solo homerun in the third inning off Mike Mussina.

What in the world has got into the Tampa Bay Rays?!  They have took the first two games in the series against the New York Yankees, and have done it in fashion!

Jonny Gomez had a homerun and drove in four runs to lead the Rays at the plate.  The Rays got to Andy Pettitte early and never let up and the controlled the game for pretty much the entire time.

Edwin Jackson picked up the win while Troy Percival picked up his first save of the season.

Wow, what a win for the Tampa Bay Rays!  They defeated the New York Yankees 13-4 at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.  It took a big seven run 8th inning to put the nail in the coffin but the Rays came away with the big victory!

The Rays got off to a great start as they got out to a 5-0 lead after the top of the third inning but then the Yankees came back and scored four runs in the bottom half to make the score 5-4.  There was no more scoring for either team until the 8th inning and that is when the Rays put up seven more runs to extend their lead and never look back.

Pretty much every batter for the Rays had atleast two hits so it was a combined effort that got the win.  Carlos Pena did have three RBI while Cliff Floyd and Jason Bartlett both had two RBI.  Other players contributing with an RBI each were Carl Crawford, B.J. Upton, and Eric Hinske.

Andy Sonnanstine picked up the win after pitching six innings.  He did give up four earned runs so he will need to control that during his next start.  Usually if a Rays pitcher gives up four earned runs they are going to lose, but tonight they had enough offense to get by the mighty Yankees.
