Congratulations to first baseman Carlos Pena for being voted for his first Gold Glove! Carlos did an above average job flashing the leather for a .998 fielding percentage — highest in the American League. Incredibly Carlos made only 2, count’em 2, errors in 1099 total chances!

I am going to guess this award means a lot to Carlos as it is voted on by the other American League managers and coaches (they cannot vote for their own players). This shows the respect other teams are showing to our blue collar, hard working Rays!

This is another great ending in a season filled with “greats” for our Tampa Bay Rays!
