The big problem with the fanbase here is that most of them are transplants and continued to follow their original teams. Due to the poor management/results of the original regime the fans never bought into this franchise until now. I think to a certain degree you are right but I also think if the Rays can turn this around and be competitive they will maintain a good fanbase. The fans need more than just 1 year to accept this franchise has really turned that proverbial corner. Tampa Bay DOES deserve this franchise! As a self proclaimed fan I'd expect you to be encouraging the fans rather than slamming them -- think that's going to help them show up??!!

I know exactly what will happen if the Rays continue to play like they are. The fans(and I use that term VERY LOOSELY)will quit coming to the games. I moved here 5 years ago, and the fans here are the MOST FAIR WEATHER FANS I have ever seen in my life. Tampa Bay doesn't deserve this franchise, because they DON'T SUPPORT IT!
I am a fan win or lose and will be in my usual seat on Thursday against Boston.
