Evan Longoria was named American League Player of the Week Monday! He has been red hot at the plate and flashes the leather at the hot corner like a grizzled veteran.
Evan hit .433 (13-30) with five doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI. The 22-year-old rookie posted a .900 slugging percentage along with a .438 on-base percentage. During a three-game Interleague series against the Florida Marlins, Longoria went 7-for-16 with two home runs and six RBI. On June 27th against Pittsburgh Longo went 4-for-5 with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored.
