The Tampa Bay Rays could not control the New York Yankees bats on Monday night as four different Yankees hit home runs.  With the loss to the Yankees, the Rays drop one game under .500 with a 6-7 record.

Al Reyes who was pitching in relief picked up the loss for the Rays.  Rays starting pitcher Andy Sonnanstine got rocked as he only pitched 3.1 innings and allowed nine hits and seven earned runs.  Sonnanstine but the Rays in a big hole early, and it was just a little to big for them to come back from.

Evan Longoria and B.J. Upton hit back-to-back home runs in the 7th inning.  It was Longoria’s first home run of his major league career.  Carl Crawford led the Rays with three RBI’s in the game.  Eric Hinske also contributed with one RBI.
