Carl Crawford hit a sac fly in the 13th inning to give the Tampa Bay Rays a one run lead in the game but hey were not done because Dioner Navarro hit a grandslam to put the Rays up five runs.  After blowing the lead in the ninth inning, the Rays came back to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3.

Navarro led the Rays with the four rbi from the grandslam.  Gabe Gross had two rbi while Carlos Pena and Crawford both had one rbi in the game.

Starting pitcher Edwin Jackson pitched eight great inning as he only gave up six hits and no runs.  He was in line to pick up the win until Troy Percival blew the save by allowing three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.  J.P. Howell ended up picking up the win for the Rays.

Great win for the Rays after they blew the game and then came back.  That is what good teams will do!  Rays Blog

The Tampa Bay Rays were riding high on a six game win streak, but that came to a halt on Tueday night as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Rays 7-4.  It was quite a run, and a good one at that for the Rays.  We will see if they can start another streak tomorrow.

Jason Hammel was roughed up in his 2.2 innings of action.  Hammel gave up six hits and three runs.  One that that really hurt Hammel was the four walks that he allowed.  J.P. Howell came in for relief and pitched three innings giving up two runs.  Scott Dohmann pitched 1.1 innings and gave up two runs as well.  Bad job by Jammel, Howell, and Dohmann tonight.

B.J. Upton did hit his third homerun in the season in the game as he finished with two RBI.  Akinori Iwamura and Carl Crawford both had one RBI each in the game.

The Tampa Bay Rays were unable to get much offense going against Jarrod Washburn and the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night.  The Rays were only able to push across a run in the 3rd inning as they went onto to lose 7-1.

Andy Sonnanstine struggled in his six innings of pitching as he allowed four earned runs on seven hits.  J.P. Howell came in as relief and didn’t fare to much better as he let three runs score (two earned) in only 1.2 innings.  Jae Kuk Ryu pitched the final 1.1 innings and did not allow a hit.  Ryu had just got called up before the game from the minor leagues.

The Rays lone run came off the bat of Akinori Iwamura who hit a sac fly.
